Atlanta Tipoff Club Names 2010 Preseason All-Metro Team

ATLANTA (November 19, 2009) – The Atlanta Tipoff Club today announced the 60 student-athletes who make up the preseason All-Metro team.  The candidates were chosen through a vote by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s board of selectors, comprised of leading basketball coaches and administrators from around the region, who based their criteria on player performances during the 2008-09 basketball season and expectations for the upcoming year.

The Atlanta Tipoff Club’s board of selectors will track the progress of all metro Atlanta players throughout this season, and determine the All-Metro team, the Metro players of the year, and Mr. and Miss Georgia Basketball, all of whom will be honored at the season-ending Naismith Awards banquet presented by AT&T in March, 2010.

“The basketball talent continues to be recognized as among the top in the nation, as is evidenced by the number of student-athletes who have signed scholarships to play basketball in college,” said Gary Stokan, Atlanta Tipoff Club president.  “We look forward to watching these athletes achieve great successes during the upcoming season.”
